EVERY MEAL COUNTS
Midleton Meals on Wheel now in its 50th year of service to the Community of Midleton, Ballinacurra, Cloyne, Roches Point, Whitegate, Saleen, Aghada, East Ferry and surrounding areas. We are registered with the Charity Regulator RCN 20024673 and are fully compliant with all sections of the Charities Regulator Code.
It was established to provide a two course meal, freshly cooked and delivered to our Clients, 52 weeks of the year. Currently we deliver over 10,000 meals annually, while also providing contact with people who live alone who may not have any visitors. We also promote the welfare and well-being of the elderly, vulnerable and people in need. We recognise that mental health can be an issue and also provide additional supports in the way of ensuring that our Clients are provided with information and contact details of support groups who can help with shopping, prescription collect, and urgent house repairs and befriending. We also provide ad hoc events / treats annually, our Client Christmas Party, Christmas Hamper, Easter Surprise etc.
We would not be able to operate without our 80 wonderful volunteers. MOW is a totally voluntary service. We have no paid employees and volunteers give of their time and service free. They are truly inspirational and dedicated. They come from all ages and backgrounds but have one thing in common they want to change people lives through their service. “Making a difference” Suppliers are also an important stakeholder and we use local suppliers where possible.
We would like to thank the people of East Cork for their continued generosity and support of our work. We rely heavily on community donations. Fundraising undertaken on our behalf by Clubs, Schools, Businesses, and Sporting Clubs is an essential l part in keeping the charity goining. On behalf of all at Midleton Meals on Wheels we sincerely thank you.
